At the start of this year I took the decision to take on 2 new sales people to specifically help me to grow the business to the next level. As my forte lies in the financial area of the business I also at the same time hired the services of Graham Everitt of GE-Force Management Consultants to look after the sales side.
He began with a total review of the sales operation and profiled all of my key staff before working with me on a sales and marketing plan for growth.
We carried out a full review of the finances and all other aspects of the operation with a view to continued expansion. We also were able to precisely set break even points and plan for the future with regard to technology and systems.
In the last 2 months we have stated to achieve our sales objectives and in May were over by £12,000 GP- we are still maintaining a good sales position. As well as achieving the targets set most of the project was completed on time with the exception of recruiting. Which took longer due to making sure we got the right people?
Graham also helped to introduce and run sales meetings and introduced excellent sales and marketing programme that we have dove tailed with the NEMO marketing tools, our buying group, this too is beginning to pay dividends.
We have now taken on a full time marketing person in this area to help with our continuing growth programme
We have been so pleased with our achievements so far, that will be continuing with Graham services at least until the end of this year and I would happily recommend his services to any other office products dealer – but not one of our competitors!
